A day in the life of....us

life is busy, busy, busy. Here is a day in the life of....well, us. The alarms start going off at 5:00 am. Lee heads to the gym and I'm up and getting ready for the day. At 6:30 I'm out the door and off to work. In the meantime Lee is calmly waking up Breken and getting him ready for school. Lee allows Breken to pick his own clothes, and they usually consist of some type of comic book character. Which is fine by me, he usually comes home covered in paint, dirt, or heaven knows what, as long as he's not wearing his good clothes then we are all happy.

Breken's school sends me an updated calendar every month, so I know what he is learning each and everyday and what he had for breakfast and lunch. I love knowing what he's learning.

Lee picks Breken up between 4-5 and they head home. I usually get home around 6 and off to the races we go. Dinner gets put in the oven. Breken and I sit down and go over what he learned that day, and then it's our "fun surprise time" This is another little learning activity that I like to do with him.

Yesterday we worked on the letter "D" for dinosaur, we made these cute "rocks" that has "fossilized" dinosaurs in them. The rocks are actually made out of dried coffee grinds, flour, sand, salt, and water. The "fossilized" dinosaur was just a small dinosaur toy. These were really easy to make and Breken loved breaking them open.

After dinner it's off to the tub where we continue to learn more about the letter "D" and the number 4.

We try to make the few hours we spend together fun. And no matter how tired I am I try to make it special. I am always looking for new things to do, so if you ever have any ideas let me know.

Hats, Hats, and more Hats

I am one of the lucky ones. Breken loves hats. Cowboy hats and baseball hats. It makes my life easy when we're in a hurry! The hardest part is finding the hat he wants to wear. So here was my little weekend project. A few hooks, and left over barn wood we had in the shed, problem solved! I love the way it turned out.

Aw the weekend!

I love my weekends! So the days Lee and I can't make it to the gym we do that workout dvd called insanity. And when I say we, I mean Lee. I usually walk by. But Breken gets a kick out of it. He has to do whatever daddy is doing.

Bandana Tablecloth

We made the cutest tablecloth at work the other day, out of bandanas. It was surprisingly easy, and it turned out so well! If you want the instructions click on the following link: http://www.youtube.com/user/CurbNotes?feature=mhum#p/u/2/WaFX3kGfwt4

What A Fabulous Weekend

On Thursday Lee and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary! I can't believe it's been 5 years. It's been the best 5 years of my life. I give Lee all the credit for being such an amazing, hard working, loving husband and father. We went on a HOT date! Let me tell you it has been a while since we went to dinner and a movie. It was so much fun!

It couldn't have been a more beautiful weekend! I think Breken and I spent every waking moment outside playing and cleaning up the yard, getting ready for spring. I needed that sunshine. My cheeks even got sunburned, I love it!

I made a book sling for Breken's room, and it was so easy! I am very pleased with the way it turned out, and it was less than $20.00! Let me know if you want the instruction I can post them. Or you can watch the video by clicking on the following link: http://www.youtube.com/user/CurbNotes?feature=mhum#p/u/12/Zpkrwb7faSw

I hope everybody Had a wonderful weekend!
